What if your wild innocence never left you?

Perhaps she's simply become obscured by the fog.

Inspired by the Aquarius Full Moon, this episode is a gentle invitation to rewild the root, dissolve the fog of shame, and remember the exquisite aliveness that has always belonged to you.

Through breath, warmth, rhythm, and movement, we explore a different path to liberation.

Not through force.

Not through fixing.

But by creating the conditions where life remembers how to move through us again.

Together we explore a radically different vision of liberation.

Not through force.

Not through fixing.

But through warmth.

Through rhythm.

Through breath.

Through the body.

Because wildness doesn’t always roar.

Sometimes it arrives as a slow tide.

In this episode we explore…

🌹 Why Aquarius is the great liberator and what this Full Moon is revealing

🌹 Pluto as radical aliveness rather than destruction

🌹 Shame as a fog that obscures our natural radiance

🌹 Why the opposite of shame may not be confidence—but aliveness

These are no ordinary times. And you, my friend, are no ordinary woman. The feminine is rising. And a new way of being human is emerging on the planet. It's time for a return to the body. Where truth lives, pleasure flows, and love leads the way. Hello, beautiful soul, and welcome to the Vital Goddess Podcast. This is a space for what I call the Venusian Revolution, a return to the body, where truth lives, pleasure flows, and love leads the way. Here we explore what it means to live as a woman who is rooted in her truth, guided by her pleasure, and led by love. And for many women, midlife becomes a powerful threshold for this journey. A moment when something deeper begins to call her forward. The path of the feminine is rooted in the temple of the body. Here we root to rise. Embodiment is the reclamation. Welcome to the Venusian Revolution. I'm your host, Diane Shepard, and I'm so glad you're here. Well, hey there, love, and welcome to the Vital Goddess Podcast. If you've been here before and you're tuning in for another episode, welcome back. It is such a pleasure to have you here, and I so appreciate you. And if you're brand new, maybe you just found this show and you're wondering what it's all about, and you're tuning in for the first time. Well, I appreciate you as well. I'm so thrilled you're here. And I hope you find something here that really speaks to you and supports you, maybe inspires you in some way. Again, really happy to have you here giving it a try. So today we are gonna dive into the topic of rewilding the root. I have a really special practice I'm gonna share with you today. But this is gonna be all about reclaiming our wild innocence. And this is inspired by our upcoming Aquarius full moon. And that's a theme that's coming up for me as I feel into this full moon in Aquarius happening on July 29th. How can we liberate ourselves, set ourselves free, become more radically and exquisitely alive? How can we reclaim our wild innocence? That's what's been coming up for me. And full moons can be a great time to tune into this. Full moons are often a reveal. They tend to illuminate. Sometimes they can be a bit emotional and even a bit jarring, but they tend to show us something, shine their light on something that's been obscured or hidden from us for whatever reason. And Aquarius is the great liberator. I love that. The great liberator. Embodied, Aquarius is wildness in its purest sense. Not the wildness for the sake of rebellion, but wildness that comes from being holy and unapologetically yourself. This air sign reminds us that there's very little value in trying to be normal. What a breath of fresh air, right? Air sign. Very little value in trying to be normal. And I think many of us have been conditioned to do exactly that, to spend a lot of time and energy in that pursuit. But Aquarius is here to tell us that what a waste of time of this precious life we have, this gift. Our greatest gifts, our deepest medicine, our truest genius, our brilliance are found in our uniqueness. That's the magic of Aquarius. Aquarius says, place your attention on what makes you come alive. Because what makes you come alive is rarely random. Aquarius says, set yourself free, not simply on a mindset level, but become more fully yourself on a cellular level. That's kind of tricky to say, cellular level. There's a lot of L's there. But yeah, on a cellular level, and your aliveness is your greatest gift to the collective. Aquarius is very much about our own individual expression and our freedom, but also how when we are in that space and really expressing ourselves, it is the greatest gift to the collective. Very concerned about creating a better world, a world with more freedom, with more love and beauty. So this moon is also joined by Pluto. They are conjunct, or like to say, dancing cheek to cheek under this lunation. And whenever there's a conjunction, there's a burst of energy. The planets are in cahoots. I know a lot of people get nervous about Pluto, and I understand it can be very intense energy, but I don't actually experience Pluto as scary or destructive as it's often depicted. I experience Pluto as radical aliveness, removing everything that prevents life from moving. So Aquarius energy and Pluto energy are very complementary in that way. Now, Pluto is all about embodied aliveness, erotic and emotional empowerment, and that depth, right? The deep aliveness of just feeling so alive in your skin. That's very, very Pluto. It's connected with the sign Scorpio. And if this full moon in Aquarius is asking us to take a look at what's blocking the free flow of our essence, our energy, obscuring our most radical and radiant, let's say, expression, Pluto is offering cosmic support to do some excavating, to dig in, to get to the root and take care of business. Pluto says, roll up your sleeves and take back your power. It's pretty fierce energy. Not by thinking, but by feeling, feeling the tough stuff sometimes. Not by adding another identity or another strategy, but by excavating the one that's been buried. Feel your fear, your doubt, your rage, your shame. Move your body, put your emotions in motion, and alchemize what holds you back. That's very Pluto. We also have a powerful square from Chiron under this moon. Now, Chiron is here to remind us that when we liberate ourselves, our essence becomes living inspiration and medicine for others. Under this moon, Chiron gives us this mantra. The more alive I become, the more permission I give everyone around me to become alive too. So when I sit with the liberation, empowerment, and medicine of this full moon, I keep coming back to one of the heaviest things I think many of us carry. And sometimes we don't even know the degree that we're carrying it. And so I'm talking about shame. Yeah, shame. Let's just take a breath together around that one. Yeah. Carrying shame is universal. I think it's been something that many of us have been inherit have inherited. And it doesn't mean there's something wrong with us, right? Shame has a remarkable ability to convince us that it isn't entirely safe to be fully alive, to be fully joyful, sensual, emotional, expressive. You know, we're if you've been ever told you're too much, right? That's definitely in the realm of shame. So somewhere along the way, shame has taught many of us to dim our light and to soften our edges to become more acceptable, to become easier for other people to understand. Ooh, that one lands, right? And while shame can often feel like a heavy weight, I've often experienced it more like a dense fog, a fog that obscures our innate radiance, a fog that obscures our wild innocence. We might even call this fog the pain body. So the question becomes: how do we allow that fog to lift? How do we lift the fog? When we think about nature, fog doesn't disappear because we argue with it or overthink it. It lifts when the warmth of the sun gently warms the earth, when the breeze begins to stir the air, when light and movement create the conditions for something to emerge, something new to emerge. And perhaps our bodies aren't so different. When we bring loving presence to the breath, when we gently warm the body through slow sensual movements, when we invite circulation back into places where our natural aliveness has become obscured, something begins to soften, something begins to stir, something begins to remember, the fog begins to lift. And not because we're going to battle with it or forcing it, but because we're creating the conditions where it can no longer remain. One of the first places many of us begin to carry shame is through the root of the body, the pelvis, the sacrum, the tail. When we feel the shame, there's even that phrase, right, tuck your tail in shame. We often tuck ourselves in. Our breath becomes smaller, our pelvis grows more rigid from lack of movement, movement becomes more careful, cautious, even mechanical instead of expressive. Without even realizing it, we begin apologizing for our own aliveness. We stop taking up space inside of our own bodies. It doesn't just make us hide from the world, it makes us hide inside of ourselves. What if the opposite of shame isn't confidence? What if the opposite of shame is actually aliveness? What if liberation isn't becoming someone new, but releasing the shame that convinced us that we couldn't be who we already are? For many years I carried a lot of shame in my pelvis, and I wasn't even truly aware of it. I was living in a shame fog. Looking back, I can see how deeply my pelvis's natural aliveness had become obscured. I hadn't realized how much shame had settled into my body over the years. For me, over time, that loss of movement, warmth, circulation became intertwined with a variety of pelvic floor issues. I also experienced very intense pain in my left SI joint, my sacral iliac joint in the back of my pelvis, and recurring sciatica flare-ups that would sometimes leave me in bed for days. It wasn't until I began gently liberating my tail and sacrum through slow sensual movement that the fog began to lift. And as that fog gradually lifted, I began noticing something remarkable. Much of the pain began to lift with it. So the practice I want to share with you today is called rewilding the root, movement medicine for the sacrum entail. We've often been taught that wildness and freedom have to roar. But the feminine, I find, often liberates herself in another way, more slowly, tenderly, rhythmically, rhythmically is so important. Like the tide returning to the shore. Wildness doesn't have to roar. Sometimes it arrives as a slow tide. It's about remembering. Rewilding is the art of creating the conditions where life remembers how to move through us again. We don't heal shame by fighting it. We warm what has been cold. We move what has become still. We love what has become hidden. And little by little, life remembers how to move through us again. And that's exactly what we'll be exploring in today's practice. So rewilding the root is a Venusian practice. It blends so well with the energy of this full moon. If Aquarius is inviting us to become more radically alive, and Pluto is asking us to remove what blocks that aliveness, then I can't think of a more fitting place to begin than the sacrum entail. In Taoism, the sacrum is often called the sacred bone, our keystone, our anchor, the place where vitality, instinct, and life force gather. And the tail, wow, the tail remembers our wild innocence. Before we learn to perform, before we learn to tuck ourselves away, before we learn to apologize for taking up space. The tail holds so much wisdom. So today's practice is incredibly simple. We're not trying to force anything. We're simply inviting the root of the body to remember that it's safe to move again, to breathe again, to let our essence move again, to become exquisitely alive. This practice is nourishment, not exercise, not rehabilitation, not self-improvement. We're creating the conditions where warmth can return. Now you'll find the full practice waiting for you in the show notes. It's just under 15 minutes. And as with any embodiment practice, consistency is where the magic lives. I invite you to return to this practice often, allowing it to become familiar in your body. Little by little, you may begin to notice yourself feeling more fluid, more connected to your breath, more at home in your pelvis. Over time, the gentle combination of breath, warmth, movement, and loving awareness begins to lift the fog, revealing the natural aliveness that has been there all along. I especially love this practice at the end of a busy day. It's a beautiful way to unwind, to soften, and to come home to yourself. So you'll find Rewilding the Root of Venusian practice for reclaiming your wild innocence in the show notes. You can download it onto your phone or your computer. But now let's just take a couple of slow, nourishing breaths together into the pelvis. Perhaps take your hand to your lower belly, take a deep inhale and a deep exhale. And feel your sacrum. Feel your tail. And notice that perhaps just by bringing your breath and your loving attention into this area, perhaps the fog is just starting to lift just a little bit. Maybe you feel a glimmer of your radiance there. Your wild innocence has been here all along, quietly, patiently waiting for warmth, for breath, for your attention, your presence. So carry that warmth with you beneath this aquarium full moon. And remember that warmth invites aliveness. And aliveness is your medicine. And if today's practice feels like coming home, perhaps it's because your body is longing for a place where this way of being is nurtured and cultivated. That's exactly why I created the Vital Goddess Temple, not as another course to complete, but as a living temple, a living sanctuary of Venusian atmosphere, a place where women remember together that the body isn't something to fix, she's someone to love. Thank you, my love, for joining me in today's episode. And if something true stirred within you, that's the wisdom of your feminine speaking. Lean into that, trust that. And until next time, soften, breathe, and let love leaders.
